...WTF?

As others commented, why not just buy a scratching post that matches the apartment... rather than try to paint carpeting?

Mine love them, but I don't think they're ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to cat ownership unless your cat is clawing everything in sight and you don't try to re-train her to a post.

eh. Depends on the cat, depends on the setting, depends on exact situation. That is one of the questions that every cat owner has a firm opinion on that many owners seem to think isn't opinion, but TRUTH, DAMMIT.

But wanting to paint carpet? That doesn't depend on cost, look, safety, anything.... it all sounds dumb.
