Okay, Jen and I compromised. Simon stays out of the kitchen and bedroom, and he only has to be shut up when I am not home. Also, we had a bit of a misunderstanding because I thought Jen never wanted Simon to leave the room, and she thought I never wanted him in the room.

So I do believe that everything will work out. But it's going to kill me to find a new home for Pinky.
