Last night...
Benner played a pretty good show. From where I was standing on stage, we always sound like crap. There's a huge guitar amp blaring in my ear. I can never hear vocals and Stef's bass and my guitar never sound tuned to each other.
But yeah, people came up to me afterward and told me that it was great. The sound quality, they said, was pretty awesome. It was nice to play a live show again. We're scheduled to play on November 12th at Scarlett's loft party. That's the gig that's going to kill me. All those scenesters are gonna see us for the first time. Scarlett was among those in the crowd last night and she really really liked our set. And I think Tanya and Steve liked it, but I'm not sure. It's hard to read. It's amazing what you can see from the stage. I saw a guy check his watch halfway through our set. My parents came and my dad looked tired and a little bored. My mom looks smiley and proud, the kind of motherly smile where I could sing off key for every song and she would still be smiling.
That's about it for now. I have no idea what kind of a costume I'm going to be wearing tonight. Hector's party is "Costume Mandatory". Jeebs. Paula is coming too. Doris gets out late as usual so she won't be coming with us. She knows I would wait for her but we've both been extremely irritated with each other lately. She actually forgot I had a gig last night.
