I can not believe the unbelievable price the people setting up this TwiCon in Dallas are asking for. $255 and that doesn't even include a room at the hotel!! It barely includes any food, let alone the only celebrity signed up to attend at this point is Mike Newton. WHATEVER!!! I was really hoping to take my Goddaughter, even if no celebrities attended, just to have some fun bonding time with her but I can't afford 1 let alone 2 tickets PLUS the cost of a hotel room. They say they have compared the price to other conventions and I'm wondering what conventions they are talking about? Not even Comic Con cost more then $100 for the entire weekend and they have MANY more celebrities in attendance and certainly could charge more. I asked my mom about all the Star Trek conventions she has been to especially the ones that had Shatner and company there and she says she's never paid that much unless it did include a room. The Buffy PBP's were never over $100 (well the 3 I attended).
So yes discouraged because this Con is in Dallas which is only 3 hours away and we can't even attend.
