Goodbye, Lif.

My iRO alchemist had a Lif as his first homunculus. I'd originally wanted a Filir - cheapest feeds (yeah, I'm a cheapskate lol) and an attack-type homunculus to boot - but I wasn't lucky on my first try. According to what I've read, a Lif is the least likely pet for my alchemist to summon based on his build; I was badly disappointed when I got one. My alchemist needed an attack pet with cheap feeds, not a support pet with expensive feeds.

I dithered for a long time about what to do. Homunculus embryos aren't cheap for new players; my alchemist is my first character on iRO, and he hasn't made a lot of zeny yet. I checked the forums for advice about raising Lifs - maybe I could keep mine, after all - but what I read wasn't comforting. Lifs are apparently not just expensive to raise, but a challenge as well. I realized that I couldn't keep my Lif without struggling to level it and my alchemist at the same time. I gave up and put it away while I set to making more zeny to buy a new one.

I bought a new one just a while ago, but I hesitated before deleting my Lif. At first I thought I could just store a homunculus away, like an ordinary pet, but I soon learned that I'd have to delete an existing one before getting a new one. Maybe I can make a new Lif once I've gotten the most out of my current one. Maybe. Though I'll always remember the first one. (Yes, I'm sentimental too. >.>) I didn't even give it a name to remember it by; maybe I should have.

Goodbye, Lif.

PS I got a Filir on my second try. I suppose I got lucky this time around. ^^

iro, ramblings
