Richards here is a handler. That of course means he's to observe and make sure the kids don't get hurt by others or by each other 8| so he tries to garner as much information he can get about them and try to use it to his advantage somehow. Be it the surveillance cameras around the area or other teachers and students in the university or even the parents themselves. Obviously he can't know everything about the kids despite his job due to limitations and restrictions of security to avoid arousing the kids' suspicious. There might be also some of you guys not wanting certain things being known or the parents being involved. This permissions post is to clear it up!
Fill in the information and leave it here via comments. Questions and clarifications and suggestions for this permissions post can also be left here if you'll like something to be cleared up or noted.
What can Richards know? - They wouldn't be good handlers if they didn't know something after all. If you think it's important enough to garner the interest of the handlers' interest, it most certainly is and you can leave it here if you think this should be handler knowledge!
What can't Richards know? - Considering some of the characters here, from Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli to a Sherlock Holmes, there will be information that he nor the others will find out despite their attempts. Again if you think it's important enough, it most certainly is and leave it here if you think this shouldn't be handler knowledge.
Can your characters' parents be handlers too? - As said earlier: Some handlers might have been given the role as parents to keep an eye on the kids. If you don't want them to, just say so and it's fine. The parents can just be volunteers of the subjects, people given children to raise, scientist who volunteered to take care of the children and etc.
If yes to the above, are you alright with the handlers sending information about your character? - If yes -- It can be everyday thing to what time they leave or contact the house to important things like moods or incidents or moments they act like their genetics are kicking in? If not -- Just say so and it'll then be assumed the handlers don't do so since they believe the subject is 'secure' enough to not warrant that kind of scrutiny.
