It seems that I've heard of this hormone in another context... I'll read this more carefully later.

Oxytocin -- pregnancy. You make it in labor and just after. Helps you get the baby out and bond with it.

I e-mailed the article to Ja, and this evening over dinner he made the connection also to breastfeeding-- oxytocin makes the milk come down as well.
