It's amazing what you find when...
you clean up a computer. I'm currently in the process of transfering from one laptop to another at work, and found a copy of some poems I wrote a few years ago. Reading these really made me remember more about where I was, and what I was feeling at the time.
To be honest I wrote these during a time that I was really trying to break the mold of who I am. I was learning a lot about relationships, and how vulnerable you can become. Unfortunitally the way it all ended snapped me back to square one, and I've been struggling ever since then to gain back ground. So here goes two of them, I might go ahead an put the others up later depending on how much regret I feel after putting these up :)
"The Poet" - 8/8/2000
The Poet within me is weak
He sits alone, silent inside his room
Silent for fear of having to face that weakness
Fearful that the weakness will be used against him
Fearful that the weakness will overshadow and negate his
strength
But what good is a silent poet?
"Your Love"
My soul quakes with the power of your love
The way you probe my feelings, the way you question my beliefs
You challenge me to love you, to prove it every moment, to you and to myself
You will settle for nothing less, so I must rise to the challenge
and learn the depths of my soul
But I am not fearful of what I will find
For I trust your instincts and you have seen worth in me
If I died tomorrow I would die knowing that I have touched love
Yet if I live, I live knowing that love exists,
and it knows my name.
