TFW sucks (a semi-long shoe rant and then a bit about my last couple of days)
I hate Tax-Free Weekend. For all of you non-texans, in August they have TFW for clothing and shoes under $100 to try and help out with the expenses of back to school shopping. This is not good for commissioned employees like me. When a customer runs you for half an hour over a stupid pair of Converse or Toms you only make 3 or 4 bucks off of it in comm. Ofcourse, that's if you're lucky enough that they don't say "I'll think about it". If they say that, they usually don't come back and when they do, they don't always ask for you if they don't see you, so some other jackass gets the credit off of them. Also, don't try on shoes at the big N if you don't have any intention on buying them. Any time you want to try on a shoe that isn't black, or is either an athletic shoe or boot, I have to run upstairs in my stockroom. If we ask to measure your feet, let us, this makes both our job easier, and your shopping trip shorter when I don't have to keep running up and down the stairs because you insisted you were a 6, when really you're a 7.5. If you're an over or an under (-5 or +10) don't bitch at me because not every shoe comes in your size. I'm a 9.5 so most of the time I have to settle for a 9 that's too tight or a 10 that's too big, but it's not my fault that most manufacturers don't make enough profit off of overs and unders to justify making them.
Aside from that, life's been ok. Saturday I didn't make shit for money, but I got more cleaning and unpacking done when I got home. Same for today. There's still a hold on my PayPal account so I haven't been able to pay for that corset yet. Luckily the seller on ebay has been super sympathetic and hasn't given me bad feedback or closed out the transaction.
I've been looking at dog adoption and rescue sites a lot more lately. I need to get my shit together before I can start getting my dogs though. Also need to make the backyard more dog friendly and get tons of doggy supplies. I have eventual plans for a French Bulldog, a pair of Boxers and a Neapolitan Mastiff. I might get a black standard Poodle too. God I love a well trained animal.
