One Direction in Wellington
So they were here, and now they have gone. It was fun while it lasted!
My mates were working in the One Direction Pop Up Store that was up for 4 days, and man, it was crazy!! I walked past there on my way to work and it was super crazy! Here are a few pictures and a video of the day the store opened! I went back at lunchtime and got the Special Edition Album for me, a bracelet for agape_eternal and a necklace and phonecharm for my cousin. $65 later, I walk out lol.
The Merchandise -
That was Friday, and they performed on Saturday in Auckland, and flew into Wellington on Sunday. I was planning on going to a movie but on my way into town, I was on the train with 2 13yr old girls who wanted to go and see them, but didn't quite know where to go. I pretty much adopted them and we went to their hotel and hung out there. We were there for like 2 hours, didn't see much. We saw a couple of hands out the window and what looked like Niall and Harry but turns out it wasn't cos the hotel staff were like "They are on a higher floor". And then we heard from some photographers that they had left round the back to go to the venue for soundcheck. So off we went! We made friends with these 2 photographer dudes, which turned out to be a damn good move haha.

So we hung outside the St James for a while, aka 4hours. We saw glimpses of Harry around the curtain Zayn threw his cigarette out the window and Liam was sitting in the window for a while, but noone knew it was him until Niall came in. We saw Josh (but I didn't know how cool he was right then, that came later!). The photographers were going inside to meet the guys which was totally not fair, but lucky for them!

Just before the concert started and everyone was inside, I went across to hang out in the warm store for a while and then me and my mates went to see The Lucky One (MMMM Zac Efron). I received a txt from my friend who was like "The concert just finished" and so I ran out of the movie before it was finished to see what I could see. Didn't work, they had blocked off getting around the back of the theatre and they had gone by the time I got to the other side.
Anyway, me and my mates decided that we would go down to their hotel at the other end of town to see if we could spot them. We walked past this bar called Bruhaus which we had thought we would go to, but it looked closed as we walked by, so we went down to their hotel and just laughed at all the girls outside. There was lots of screaming and running from one side of the building to the other, and then some randoms dropped down a note that said "You don't know you're beautiful, Love One Direction". OMG The fans went apeshit and it was sooo funny! We watched them all freak out about it and take photos of the note and stuff, it was all fun.
Then we left the hotel and started to walk back to the flat, when Nick (the mate I was with) got a txt from his mate who opened for One D. We walked past the Bruhaus bar again and the lights were still on so we asked if we could use their toilet, and tyhey said no, they were closed. They had bar staff on and security, and so as we were walking away, we were talking about why would it still be open on a Sunday night unless they had a booking? Suspicious! Anyway, we ended up going back to the hotel and getting into the bar and having some drinks in there with the rest of the band - who all had backstage passes. We went up to his room for a little bit and hung out and sung songs etc. Most of the guys then bailed and went to bed, but we hung around till about 1am and then left.
As we were walking back, we passed the Bruhaus bar again, and holy shit, there they were. We started walking down the side of the street they were on, and security made us go to the otherside of the road. We, especially I, was in total disbelief. There they fucking were. WOW. We stayed and watched for a while, then Louis came out and was all "We needed some air" and the rest of the guys followed him out - except Zayn. They started talking to about the 30/40 odd fans who were on the other 3 corners of the street.
Quotes of the night include:
Louis *pointing to all the corners* "Why are you all segregated? Ohhh, so your the Justin Bieber fans *points to another corner* your the *murmer* fans and your our fans"
Boys "One, Two Three..." and then they all dropped down to the floor. They come up and Louis was all "Thats the 1, 2, 3, drop, we do it all the time"
Fans to Louis: "did you see our sign, it said One D Makes Kiwis Jizz"
Louis "Makes kiwis what?"
Fans "Jizz"
This went on for a while, and then Louis was all "Thats a little inappropriate for a fan isn't it?"
Photographer comes across the road and then Louis goes "First one to kiss Mike (I think that was his name) gets a kiss from Harry". Cue girls SURGEING upon Mike, and him running back behind security. Harry is all "nooooo" and so then I yell at Louis "Thats RAPE, he dosen't want to kiss anyone!" and we all lol.

Anyway, the guys were all drinking, and then all of a sudden, Louis, Liam and Harry just took off down the road! Yes, there was security too! Half the fans chased them, I was too busy laughing and then realised if I ran the other way I could stop them in their tracks and trap them! So I did. Ahhhh the lolz. I ended up jumping out RIGHT infront of Harry, literally, I could have tackled him. I remember thinking HOLY SHIT THATS HARRY and I kinda wanted to glomp on him, but I didn't really want to get arrested haha.

So that was pretty fun. Nick had txt his friend who opened and told him we had found the band, and then after all this, he fricken comes down and gets into the bar! OMG!! We tried to get in, but even when he came out to get us, security was like "No". Lame.IF ONLY we had managed to get those backstage passes off those guys earlier on, we could have got in. So bloody close!! Anyway, we went back to Nicks flat and I went to sleep on the couch for a few hours before catching an earlier train home for some more sleep and a shower out here.
When I got up in the morning, I wasn't home for long. I had to go straight into town to do some stuff, but I didn't get very far. I got to their hotel and saw a bunch of people outside and so I was like o hell why not? So I made friends outside the hotel. We spent the day out the front - mainly, but we kept running between the back and front cos we would hear screams and all it would turn out to be was like a wave out the window and we didn't even know if it was them or not. We heard rumours coming down that the guys has been for a swim in the pool and stuff, we are still trying to figure out what that stuff was.About halfway through the day, their band came out and left. Thats when I figured out who Josh was, and got very excited over Josh. I don't know why, eveyrone just seems to know Josh, and it was very funny.

I figured they were probably pretty hungover (Turns out Niall had food poisoning also, whoops!) I had to run away for half an hour to some stuff, and pick up more merchandise for mates, but by the time I got back not much more had happened. There had been a few more gates put out, but that was it. At one point, a whole lot of hobbit people came out and left and then Harry tweeted a very cryptic hobbit-esque message, and we all knew what it means *wink wink*. We all got very excited when we figured out they were tweeting cos it meant they were up! There was one wave pretty much straight after Niall tweeted he was awake and we are 80% sure it was him. Woooo!
We waited a few more hours, and then at about 6.30pm they started bringing out more gates, shutting off the car access to the hotel. Very promising. Then more security started coming out, and we started getting told not to push the gates....OMG. Annnnnnnnnd then it happened. And it was loud. But we saw them. And it was pretty cool. They all looked exhausted and hungover, and Niall did look a little ill, poor guy :(. My photographer mates ended up finding out their flight number, gate and departure time, but I had to go to a show. But I let my little 14yr old friends know when it was, they were crying and so happy after the guys left, I will admit to shedding a tear only cos I cry when other people cry though and I was comforting them!
So that was my time with 1D, there was a whole lot more shit that went down today, but I'll post about that tomorrow.

- another epic bit, when a group of people in the car drove past, they figured out who was in the bar and started screaming. The boys start yelling at the car "you pull over, you pull over" and the girls did. All very funny.
