Midnight Update
As midnight swallows up the house, there are a few changes one might not expect to happen in the middle of the night. A theater has opened up, attaching to the Grand Ballroom, although it is not quite ready for a play. It seems someone forgot to clean up, you see.
Anyone who has had food or water from the Blue Kitchen since nightfall has been poisoned. It's nothing that will kill them, but it is something that will make them a touch more paranoid--and the paranoia only increases as time goes on. Suddenly, everyone seems like an enemy except, perhaps, those you are closest to. Or will you suspect them, too? Coupled with this paranoia is a slightly warped sense of morals--maybe it becomes easier to justify killing that monster, and maybe it's not as frightening to do so. Or maybe it becomes easier to justify killing that friend you're sure is spying on you and waiting to kill you.
Anyone who is in the basement tunnels has been locked inside until further notice, and the sounds of construction--drilling--are especially loud. Perhaps something is being built that the house wishes a small group to see? (note: If you'd like your character to be down here, comment on this post. No more than seven or so, though.)
