I don't really read GoT fic but obviously had to make an exception here. And the final scene of this past ep filled me with SUCH GLEE. This whole storyline dedicated to Jaime countering his every selfish impulse in order to weaponlessly jump in front of bears for his new bestie is apparently designed to murder me with heart-aching joy. "These days, his whole life consists of pangs of regret over Brienne of Tarth." And you are determined to finish the job of putting me in my grave, apparently. Just delighful.

And my new fondest wish is for Jaime and Brienne to have a good laugh together (before everything goes to hell in a handbasket again).

Fluff be damned, this was fun and definitely in the spirit of *them*! I love it. This: "For a stupid second, he imagines her serving as a knight of the Kingsguard. Not for Joffrey; that would never do. For a good king, a noble king, the sort of king who’s always in songs but never bothers to exist. He imagines her always at his side, reminding him what it is to be brave."
