I HAVE A COMMENT. BLESS THIS FICATHON BECAUSE I WAS JUST THINKING THAT THERE NEEDED TO BE A HALLOWEEN THEMED ONE.

she's there again now, in her periphery of her vision.

gwen blinks and knows that she'll disappear, only to reappear the next day, at a different hour, when the light's not quite right.

sometimes, gwen will rub at her eyes with her fingers to make it stop. will try not to think much of it when her hand will be wet. won't think because she is the queen and queens stand tall and brave and decidedly do not think about girls in bright silk dresses, girls who are now haunted and haunting, hunted and hunting, have hurt and are hurting and hurting and hurting.

(and sometimes, gwen will blink, keep her eyes closed longer, keep the image there, think, please don't leave yet. you just came. you just--)

it's not like it makes a difference. she will always appear then disappear, with a blink of an eye, turn of the head, a split second of inattention, snapping back to attention.

and she's there like she was always there (never there), like she never left (was never there) to begin with.
