OH MY HEART. This is such a cornucopia, nay, a festival of shippiness and loveliness and creepy melancholy and I am just going to steal you and make you write fic for me forever, okay! We're on the same coast now, it could happen! Basically: YES. This is the perfect transitional fic between the two series and, ugh, I wish we could actually get into Morgana's head properly - GIVE US SOME REAL CHARACTERISATION, SHOW.

I love this muchly. If you couldn't tell.

This is wonderful! I do hope they'll eventually give us some details about Morgana's missing year, but until then I will happily make this my personal canon. The Gwen dream was probably my favorite part, though her Uther hallucination was so good, too.

Thank you so much! Oh, gosh, I hope-hope-hope we will get some Morgana details at some point. Not in a way where I truly expect it to happen, but boy, would it be nice.

Why do you always write fics that break my heart?? Oh god, this was lovely and totally in character and so, so sad, I cannot even take it. From the very first line, to Morgana dreaming of Uther, and then Gwen, and her disagreement with Morgause about what Arthur will, or could become.

Too quick a thing to cherish, you would think. But Morgana tucks the memory away, adoring it clumsily, hungrily. It's been so long since she had anything like it. Once they all used to smile at her like that. It was so common she barely even noticed.

This was utterly, utterly true, and so much sadder because of the truth of it. Jeez. Wonderful.

Thank you so much! Gah, I think I will never get sick of writing super angsty Morgana fic. She has had a darn tough time of it, even if I can't really tell whether the show wants us to think as much ...

this is such a THING to sink my teeth into; i want to know more about morgana's year alone and this is a wonderful insight into the first few days/however long this is. and the parts with gwen and uther and arthur were especially heartbreaking because they HAVE been neglecting morgana, if they never meant to or understood quite what they were doing.

and merlin. that part about merlin made me so sad. (i will never stop shipping them, EVER)

Thank you so much! All the Morgana neglect in season two was so THERE, and yet it seemed like the show never really touched on it even as it was happening. Oh my heart.

Also: the abundance of fun Merlin/Morgana stuff is totally one of the greatest s3 highlights so far. Their relationship is at such a weird stage right now. There should be so much fanfic!

Gah, so, so beautiful! I particularly loved the Uther dream (such a surprise, I know). I loved how you could feel Morgana's desperate need for love and comfort from Uther there, and how his steadfast affection for her completely tormented her, because she wants so badly to believe that he'd love her no matter what, but she can't believe it, and it's so darn heartbreaking. The Gwen dream was also very wonderful. And I love how Morgause keeps contradicting the dreams, how she subtly keeps trying to draw Morgana away from her love for all those people. Brilliant. Loved this fic!

Thank you so much!! After I wrote this, I found myself wondering whether it might be more likely that she'd be plagued by thoughts of them hating her, and whether that might have been a more logical source for the way we see her acting now on the show. But for some reason the idea of her being taunted with their love, and having it be so strong and so unreliable all at once, really just got me.

Also, y'know, Uther and Morgana. Should be interacting with vague inappropriateness ALWAYS!
