I am ridiculously curious to see what you'd do with Desdemona. So many actors in my program are convinced that she's completely stupid, and I feel that you are one of the few authors who really adore probing behind the obvious "given".
The truth is this: they know nothing of battle. They are learned men, happily kept in cages. They were not made for vengeance.
Lovely. And so true. I think my mouth dropped open a little when I read this; this is what I was trying to get across to my classmates for ages one day, when we were discussing Hamlet's reaction to the army asking permission to wander across Denmark to go invade Poland.
Fate is a sharp-brained mistress; she does not hesitate to ask for the grandest sacrifices.
And so Hamlet sits in corners, courting her.You have the power to write beauty. Please don't ever stop. You're the one person whose stories I still read, and, oh, I read a whole lot of them during my Harry Potter fanfiction mania, and that lasted about six years

Aw, gosh, thank you so much! ♥ This was written on a very bizarre whim, and I was writing more for the sound of it than the substance, and I'm glad that you liked it!
Also: I am not super-familiar with Othello -- we watched the Branagh film in my Shakespeare class a few years ago, but that's about it! My Shakespeare knowledge, in general, is not nearly as extensive as I wish it was -- but I love analyzing the brains of Shakespeare ladies, and reevaluating the actions of heroines who are generally considered silly or stupid or weak, and so I will definitely keep that in mind for the next time that play and I may cross paths!
Found you after someone recc'd me to your lovely, cracky Merlin fic (after reading my Morgana rant) and started rifling through your writing.
First Shakespeare fanfic I've read; maybe people are too intimidated to try, but you not only capture the feel of the thing, but you seem to light up the same road I traveled on when I read the play. But, y'know, prettier. With sconces.
