Uther and Morgana! Slowly but surely that pairing is growing on me, and you've captured it so well here. They're so complicated and powerful and so much goes unsaid so often, until it doesn't anymore. I really loved this.

(I'd actually never even realized that there haven't been any winter episodes of Merlin, but you're right! Now I want a Christmas ep. And the Green Knight can be in it, too, as long as there is still boykissing.)

Thank youuu! ♥ They're growing on me too! All throughout season one, I could see it but my reaction was kinda like "Eeeaurghhhh!", but now it's more like, "... Oohhhh." They have just got so much that's interesting going on! I think you don't even have to throw the sexual component in there in order for it to be fascinating.

(IS THERE ANY SHOW IN THE WORLD THAT SEEMS MORE SUITED TO A CHRISTMAS EPISODE THAN MERLIN? I swear, every episode feels like a Christmas episode! Imagine how great it would be with snow! And beheading games! And BOYKISSING. Ha ha ha, I am kind of tempted to do an episode-esque fic wherein the Green Knight shows up and challenges all the dudes to lots of stupid life-defying games and every male at court gets magically sucked into it -- it's like medieval Jackass! -- and Morgana and Gwen have to save everybody from being morons and getting their heads chopped off and getting magical girdles from sluts and stuff. Because seriously, seriously, Morgana and Gwen need to save the boys one of these days.)

Those are pretty much my exact feelings on them! Uther was all lovestruckically staring at her in 2x04 after she returned to Camelot and I was like "... OH."

(YES. I am just waiting for Morgana and/or Gwen to save the boys. $20 says that'll be how Arthur finds out about Morgana's magic. And that it'll happen before he finds out about Merlin's.)

(I partly suspect that what is preventing them from doing a Christmas snow-type episode is the cost of it?)

IT IS MY DREAM. Hahaha, we were talking about it in class today, and for some reason I was hit with the overpowering desire to see ... Jason Segel play The Green Knight. I don't know how to justify it, but the notion of Jason Segel being green and even more humongous than usual -- I don't know, it enchanted me!

Oooooooooooh, oh oh oh, oh you! I LOVE YOU, I KNOW I DON'T SAY IT ENOUGH. Oh man, I loved absolutely everything about this. Her childish glee at seeing snow, the Pendragon tradition, the way she sort of knows there's something going on between Arthur and Gwen but won't acknowledge it for their own sakes, the way she can't resist ribbing Arthur even in her thoughts, the way Uther's love for her just plain scares her, the way her love for him just plain confuses her, the way she melts at his softer side, Uther's peacefulness and love when talking about Igraine, the way Morgana tells him she has few better memories than WALKING WITH HIM ARM IN ARM IN THE SNOW, Uther PROFESSING HIS LOVE in his own Utherish way, THE CHEEK TOUCH, the intensity in just that one single moment and how she really has no control when she lets out the "My Lord--" and he draws his hand back, how it's all so innocent but NOT because of that intensity, Uther's heartbreak when he thinks she's rejecting his love, the way Uther's world is just a little bit brighter
