if i am lost for a day, try to find me

As prophesied, a Brideshead Revisited picspam! More specifically, a first-half-hour-of-Brideshead Revisited picspam, before the Catholicism and alcoholism and heterosexuality factor in, and it's all just one big fun opulent boylove celebration. Whoo.

If it could only be like this always-- )

picspam, boylove, brideshead revisited

I haven't seen the TV version (I want to someday! I just found out they have it at our public library, so maybe I even will), and I tend not to pay attention to anything while looking at Matthew Goode besides "adkjfladjdalja MARRY ME," but it really, really struck me in that second-to-last cap that he is just looking seriously Irons-esque.

The only thing I know about this film is that Emma Thompson is in it. Didn't know that there was so much pretty in it.

Lots of pretty, not much Emma Thompson! She plays a supporting role, but she's not in it a whole bunch -- I think she's so big on the posters just because she's the most famous person in it. Anyway, it's definitely worth a watch!

SHUT UP YOU MADE ME CRY BEFORE NOON.

Oh, boy!love, Why are you so tragic!? I need to, like, go re-watch Maurice now and make myself feel better. BECAUSE THEY RUN OFF TO SOUTH AMERICA IN THE END AND ARE HAPPY. I NEED HAPPINESS OTHERWISE IT JUST HURTS MY SOUL.

Hi, my name is Julia and I am terrible at dealing with fictional tragedy and unhappy endings.

I knowwwwww! Oh, Sebastian/Charles, WOE ALL OVER. And I totally need to see Maurice! But first I need to read Maurice, because that's how I roll. I do have a copy on my shelf right now just waaaaiting to be read, though, so hopefully I'll get around to it soon. Vintage boylove adventures > Moll Flanders. Sorry, Defoe and schoolwork! THWARTED AGAIN.

I wandered into this thing all, "These dudes are PRETTY! And there's so much close talking! And I think they're going to kiss, but they NEVER DO" and then they DID. I think I'm going to have to add this to my List Of Movies I Need To Watch Immediately, Goddamit Self, STOP PUTTING THEM OFF.

(Also you changed all your userpics again, I see!)

DAMN RIGHT THEY DID. :D Watch it, watch it! It kind of gets lamer as it gets straighter, in my (totally unbiased) estimation, but it is so worth a watch.

(Aaaaugh, I didn't mean to! And then suddenly I was! My current hypothesis is that I tire of them so quickly because I get really sick of looking at my keywords, so this time, I made my keywords as concise as possible so there's less to get sick of! Let's see if they stick around longer because of it. They so aren't going to. OPTIMISM.)

I am downloading Disc Two AS WE SPEAK.

(Similarly, I think I tire of mine because I'm always staring at the same six icons when I open the 'browse' feature to scan through and pick one out. So this time I attempted more obvious keywords so I can select one without being all, 'HMMM, WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN???')

I didn't manage to see the end of it but he was very good in Perfume - freakily fixated but still empathetic. I really must get that out again...

Ooh, I've wanted to see that for ages! I want to read the book first, though. (And I finally got a copy of it, FOR FREE; bless you, free bookshelf outside the campus bookstore!)
