oh also, WILLIAM WEGMAN came to show slides and videos today. i unfortunately had to leave early to relieve someone for lunch break, but seriously, nothing interests me more than experimental video and a man who loves his DOGS.
his relationship with man ray and the others just makes me shine inside. as there are quite a few eras of his photography, and each dog offers something completely different but always loveable, i find it hard to choose a favorite, or even come close. and of course his photos/paintings/video that don't involve dogs are also great, but im so in love with the dogs!!
the man's anecdotes almost made me pee my pants. so hilarious. yeah im scrolling through internet image files and im not finding any of the ones i wanted to post as examples. i really loved his work with his assistant's black wienmarner [again, sp], and then of course seeing the differences in personality between the different dogs was just so true. man ray is 2/3 brain, fay ray is a thoroghbred, battina is goofy and loves complex sets, and chip is handsome. they're all so human! i can't get over it...
