Revo continued to laugh as Reid wiped the ice cream off his nose. His brother looked ridiculous but Revo knew he wouldn't get angry at him over such a small thing. When he revealed that he might know the man he was talking about however, it was the younger twin's turn to be surprised.
Reid folds the table napkin and sets its down on the table neatly again. How distracted was he these past few days that he forgot to tell his brother that he made a new friend?
'Better late than never', he thought.
"Shou's father, Conrad, knows Kanou. I spend some time with him when he's not with Conrad and Shou."
He smiles, happy that he has some good news to share to his brother.
The large smile broke out on Revo's face again. Reid was a really kind person, but he didn't have that many friends. They hadn't had many opportunities for that kind of interaction with others while growing up, and his brother's reputation at the tournament hadn't made it easy to make friends even among those who had control of the elements like them. Even if it was just with the parents from the daycare, Revo was glad his brother was getting along with more people.
"I see. But then why is Shou calling him 'Mommy'? His father is--oh!" Revo gasped as the implications finally dawned on him, and his cheeks flushed a becoming shade of pink. He ducked his head out of embarrassment, but couldn't help but ask, "So are Mr. Douglas and Mr. Hajime together..?"
Reid thought for a moment. He was kinda, okay admittedly very, bad at keeping in touch with his friends so he never really get to ask if his friend was indeed going out with someone.
He doesn't want to give his brother the wrong information, but he guesses it will be okay if he shared his views on the matter. Right?
"But they do get along quite well lately. O-of course that's just my observation. What do you think?"
"I think it would be great if they are," Revo answered without missing a beat, melting his already soft sundae further by idly churning it with his spoon. "I know Mr. Douglas does his best, but Shouichiro deserves a mother...even if it's another man."
The teacher smiled softly at the thought of his student. Shou could be painfully shy at times but he was a good kid, and he deserved a complete family. Even if both of his 'parents' were male. Revo looked at his brother curiously, wondering what he thought of that.
"That...wouldn't be a problem though, would it? You wouldn't like them any less just because of that, would you?"
Reid, in fact, also thought that it would be a great thing if they got together. A whole family will always be a better family.
"They're both good people, Revo. I don't think the fact that they're both male would do any harm. Besides, Shouichirou seems happy with his parents, and I think that's all that matters."
He smiles and eats a spoonful of his sundae.
"Although, I wish Shouichirou won't get Conrad's temper when he grows up."
"Really? I've never seen him lose his temper before so I wouldn't know."
It was hard to imagine Mr. Douglas having a temper. Revo had seen the scar over his eye of course, but he was always so gentle with Shouichirou. He was a good father, and a good man. And Mr. Hajime looked like he was too.
"But I'm glad brother thinks that way." There were people who would frown down on such a relationship after all. Revo understood where they were coming from, even if he didn't agree with them. Love was love, wasn't it? He was glad his brother wasn't one of those people, bBut he couldn't help but wonder....
"That means he wouldn't be upset if I introduced my boyfriend to him, right?"
Reid is about to take another spoonful of his sundae when he is taken off guard by his brother's words.
"B-boyfriend? You...have a boyfriend?"
His eyes widens as he stares at his brother. Revo. Revo the teacher. Revo his twin has a boyfriend.
"Since when have you been going out? Ha-have you been hiding this because you were afraid I would disapprove?"
Reid is confused. Very, very confused. He waits for his brother for confirmation, his hand still midway in the air, holding his spoonful of sundae that's now slowly dripping back to the bowl below it.
Revo watched his brother's surprised reaction and burst out laughing. He meant to keep up the charade and make up a fictional boyfriend, but it was impossible to keep a straight face with his brother staring at him like that. And how would he know what it was like to have a boyfriend anyway? He'd never been with anyone his entire life.
"Relax, Reid. I'm just joking." He grinned at him, his eyes shining mischievously with victory. If there was one thing Revo shared with the demon possessing him, it was getting a reaction out of his brother. "Of course I'd tell you if I found someone I liked. Whether or not they're a girl."
It was a bit of a roundabout way of doing things, but Revo felt quite relieved to finally tell his brother his preferences. Not that he was completely certain of them, but he figured that if Q was able to use his body to meet people of both genders, then he must at least be a little attracted to both, right?
"But how about you? Is there anyone you like right now?"
Reid chuckles at his brother's question. There are lots of women he find beautiful, but the question never really flew by his mind.
"No, I don't think there's anyone I like as of the moment."
He smiles, how on earth did they ever arrive at this question. They haven't even won the final tournament, and his brother's already asking about girls. Heck, he's not even sure he was date material, judging by how awkward he is.
Revo just shrugged, not pressing the issue. He pretty much already knew what the answer would be before his brother gave it anyway; he just asked because that was where the conversation naturally lead. He finished his sundae, scraping the very last bit at the bottom of his cup with his spoon.
"Sorry for teasing earlier. I promise you'll be the first one to know if I end up liking anyone."
Or second, seeing as the demon inside of him would be the first. The light in Revo's eyes dimmed a little at the thought. He wondered if he would have time to fall in love before his soul completely faded away. But he wasn't going to think about such things today. Today they were going to have fun!
"Where do you want to go after here?" he asked as he wiped his mouth clean, looking expectantly at his brother.
There are a lot of places they can go to, but at this time of day almost every shop in the mall will be full of people. It's a weekend too.
"How about we just go for a walk for a while?"
He smiled as he called the attention of the waiter for their bill. Their meal for today would be his treat since he got a bit of bonus from his job at the cafe.
"Just walking, no jogging, sprinting or anything related to training."
Reid turns to his brother as he wipes the ice cream on the tip of his nose. He smiles as he watches how happy his brother looked right now.
He and his brother set this particular day to have fun and forget about the stresses of the tournament, so he figures that he might as well enjoy it.
"I apologize, and I think I know the man you're referring to."
He laughed, remembering his friend who just recently announced to him that he had become a mother.
