I'm reading Nicole Krauss' The History of Love at the moment, I'm not yet halfway through and I'm already certain it's a favourite.

I just finished Shaun Tan's Tales from Outer Suburbia, and it is beautiful. I love it and I think you may too. (Graphic novel/illustrated short stories.)

I only wish I could claim credit for it - but at least I can claim credit for having the good taste to use it? ;-)

I have unfortunately not done enough reading this year, but I recommend Hallucinating Foucault by Patricia Duncker to everyone -- it's a beautiful metafictional love story between a writer & a reader that speaks to both the mind & the heart. ♥

Hello, new friend. Nice to see a post by you.

I have A.S. Byatt's Possession waiting enticingly in my library bag, and I would also love to get my hands on a copy of John Keats' letters. Did you see the film Bright Star? It's about Keats and Fanny Brawne, and it's glorious.

i have not seen it! i am hearing fabulous things from all over, though, so i will prioritize it.

and possession is FANTASTIC, especially if you like poetry. i really wished the epics byatt 'quotes' scraps of actually existed in full!

Psst psst, I have not read Possession yet but apparently Hallucinating Foucault is supposed to be similar in all the good ways, except postmodern instead of Victorian! :)

Ooh! Let me know what you think of Possession once you've finished it? I couldn't get through it the first time, but it sounds like something I would love and the first attempt was five years ago, so I want to try again. :)
