the opposite of otium
oh man, reading period. am putting off writing papers by dl'ing sweet, sweet music, & obsessively reloading my flist.

plan for afternoon:
+ shower
+ coffee, food
+ Expos essay
+ page or two of Aeneid essay
+ perhaps gym, depending on items 3 & 4
having exams after break is good in some ways, but utterly fiendish in others. my friend who goes to Brown has another two weeks of aimlessness, & called to complain. (he rec'd little sympathy, as might be expected.) and pursuant to that call, have realized that I won't be home again until May, unless I sneak off home directly following my last exam: I've unwittingly signed over both intersession & spring break to the demands of crew. FABULOUS.
I don't know that I'm ever actually as cheerless as I come across in these entries; it's just that what little cheer I do have is entirely irrational, and rather contraindicated by the actual facts of my life. (other than the movie-watching I've been doing, at least-Sherlock Holmes, most recently. good times.)
