(no subject)
so last night was pretty fun. before going to work, i gave alex a call to wish her a happy birthday. this time, she answered and wanted me to come out to the bar with her. sweet. i worked a quickie 4 hour shift, which was merciful, and actually skipped out of work a little early. i got home, cleaned, changed, and did my best to look nice. then i met her, blake, and her friend chuck at Brothers.
jill warned me about that place, and i'm inclined to agree with her after seeing this place stuffed full of yuppie assholes, about 70% of them being yuppie asshole guys. its a huge, gigantic bar, but it was a lot of fun. we danced, we schmoozed, had some drinks, and it was a good time. and yes, i did, in fact, dance last night. not very well, but god damn..... i never dance. you know, i've noticed that these days i'm more comfortable doing some things than i was a year or two ago, like dancing, and following up on calling people. thats some pretty good stuff to think about.
then i left, and i'm not entirely sure why. it could've been because of the time, and i was comfortably drunk but i still had to drive home, maybe one or the other. either way, i probably could've stayed out all night with them. and jill was still awake when i came home... but i didn't get sick, which is good. i'm trying to work on that. i had a good night!
i also bought another CD the other day. actually, the first one in a long time. i bought the Dave Brubeck Quartet's "Jazz Impressions of Japan" at the suggestion of co-worker mike. i've never been terribly keen on Mr. Brubeck, but i was pretty suprised by this album. its a live album, and the first time i'd heard Brubeck live, and i enjoy it a lot. great stuff.
