Eighteen: One Year; Six Months
The next morning Reid searched the house up and down for his calendar. “Luke? Have you seen my planner?” he called into the bedroom.
“On the sofa, isn’t it?” Luke replied, half asleep.
Reid looked on the couch to find not his calendar, but Luke’s. He laughed. “Luke, why do you have hearts drawn all over today’s date?”
“What’s today?” Luke called back groggily from bed.
“January 19th.”
Suddenly Luke shot up and stood in the living room beside Reid, blushing. “It’s nothing.”
Reid’s heart sunk. “It’s not like, Noah’s birthday or something, is it?” he asked, trying his best to sound disinterested and failing.
“No! Nothing like that!” Luke assured him and watched the color come back to Reid’s face.
“Its…” Luke started as his face reddened even more.
“What?” Reid asked, amused at Luke’s sudden bashfulness.
“Its a year ago today since… you came to Oakdale.”
Reid laughed. “Oh my god! You keep track of the dates you kidnap people?”
“I didn’t kidnap you.”
“Lured and trapped me, same difference.”
“Anyone in this town could explain to you that there’s a very big difference,” Luke giggled.
“Wouldn’t shock me,” Reid replied. They inched closer to one another. “I don’t have rounds until noon. I wouldn’t object to you trapping me again, Mr. Snyder.”
Luke raised an eyebrow devilishly. “Mm, that sounds like fun. Not as much fun as last time though, because this time you want me to trap you,” he said.
“Who said I didn’t want you to the first time?” Reid replied in a low whisper.
Their lips met, soft hums escaping both their lips. Reid pushed Luke backward until his hips hit the kitchen counter and he moaned.
“I need you. Right now,” Reid growled.
“Uh-huh,” Luke responded, barely audible.
“I always do. Need you,” Reid said, giving Luke a vulnerable look.
Luke simply nodded. “I know.”
After a moment of stillness, they resumed ripping at each other’s clothes.
“You’re not… supposed to be… the one trapping… me…” Luke panted.
“It’s my Oakdale anniversary. I can do whatever the hell I want,” Reid replied, and shut Luke up with his tongue before he could speak again. Luke happily agreed with that line of thought.
