a three-quarters drabble

Mar 31, 2007 21:08

Further to my resolution to keep in touch with LJ more often, and to remind myself that I can still get things finished, even if this is shorter than a drabble and basically a one-liner... This was originally written for nineveh_uk and is therefore a crossover of two things she likes which will mean little (nothing?) to those who haven't read Clouds of ( Read more... )

crossover, quagmire, drabble, myfic, sayers, hp

I've read Clouds of Witness so I know what Peter's Pot is - but will have to do some revision, as I don't have a clue who Rowland Prince is in that book...

And icon love to the fierce canary!

crossover! not in Sayers at all, but someone waiting for a portkey. damn. obv should have used more drabble words making that clearer...

I dunno, I'd have thought the word "wizards" was a bit of a clue. There aren't any wizards in Sayers except for the story where there are

Nice to see this again, though for a faint moment I thought "a crossover of two things she likes" was going to be Barbara/Paul meets the Death Eaters...

except for the story where there are Have I missed that one, or are you being ironic again?! I have only read one of the short story collections - it's hard to face the fact that there's so little undiscovered Wimsey left for me, so I'm taking them very slowly...

Barbara/Paul meets the Death Eaters... Go on, I dare you! I don't reckon the DEs would stand a chance against Uncle Pandarus, at least...

Ironic, me? nineveh_uk April 2 2007, 12:49:32 UTC
He pretends to be a magician/wizard in The Incredible Elopement of Lord Peter Wimsey. I don’t think the short stories are particularly good, but they are a bit of fun, and the one with 10 year old Saint-George has the words “TV Christmas special” written all over (except that they’d have to change the bit about S-G staying with Peter and Bunter and going pyjama-clad into their bedrooms for child protection reasons).

The other way to save the Wizarding World: fix all the DEs up with French mistresses. Alas, I have no time at present, the list of must-write fics grows ever longer, and I've just been scribbling down "Peter PV of beach swimming scene" - well, if no-one else will do it.

Ah, haven't read that one - though have the Saint-George, and thoroughly agree on its potential.

fix all the DEs up with French mistresses. *snort* Or just Tom Riddle, perhaps? Cut off the problem before it even starts? Oh well, will just have to imagine tale-as-written-by you, and can't complain given what you say you are intending to share with us instead.

Sorry - I'd forgotten Peter's Pot is in Yorkshire, and the Princes are HP and very likely Northern...

*sigh* I'll get me coat. Sorry for letting the side down!

No, don't get your coat, stay! (unless you have somewhere else you want to be, of course...) There was only one word as a clue - I'm always missing things like that. And thanks for spotting the(presumed) Northerness of the Princes.

I was originally going to make more of this - talking about the two wizards heading off to the Quidditch World Cup or somesuch - but I really didn't know where to take it so I left it at my one stroke of inspiration about that sardine tin...
