Title: Chronicles Of a Break-up
Fandom: Super Junior
Pairing: Siwon/Heechul, interferingbestfriend!Hankyung
Word count: 2,020
Rating: PG-13
Summary: If this is a break-up, then it's not a very good one.
A/N: (Original, posted on VD) You know you're lost in a fandom when you write Valentine's fic. I just never thought it would be about girly Korean boys *sighs*. Also, Hands Clean by Alanis Morissette should probably not be used for something like this, but I love it and it inspired the fic so meh.

Reposting of a previous fic.

Chronicles Of a Break-up
In Which Heechul Fails Miserably

If it weren't for your maturity
None of this would have happened

Heechul doesn’t feel guilty, really, because he doesn’t see what he would have to feel guilty about, but he does feel like he’s corrupted Siwon, who probably would have at least thought before having sex in a public place earlier. It’s like he’s seduced the poor, innocent, naive boy, who wasn’t quite prepared for what he was getting himself into when he met Heechul. After all, Heechul is a perfect specimen of the human species, and so Siwon can’t really be blamed for falling completely and hopelessly in love with him. But still, Siwon should really be chasing a pretty, young thing around, who wants to marry him and have 2.4 children.

It’s not even as though they have a relationship beyond the (very) good sex. They don’t hold hands, they don’t go on dates, Siwon barely even sleeps over. Heechul knows that he isn’t even in love with Siwon - he’s very fond of him, but he knows that Siwon thinks of him with hears in his eyes and Heechul doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to reciprocate that.

So he thinks it’ll be easier to break it off now, before Siwon falls even harder and it becomes totally unfair to carry on.

“Siwon,” begins Heechul, as Siwon lets himself in the door to the door with the spare key Hankyung may have given him, or Heechul when he was possibly quite drunk. “I really need to talk to you.”

Siwon drops his sports bag with a loud noise that sounds like something quite valuable has broken. Siwon doesn’t even seem to notice, though Heechul does, and almost thinks I could have had whatever that was, you idiot. Siwon pulls on Heechul’s arm. “Not now, hyung,” he says earnestly. “I only have an hour before I need to leave again.”

“But it’s important,” protests Heechul, even as he lets himself be dragged into the bedroom.

“Plus, I won’t be back until tonight so this is our only chance,” continues Siwon, giving no indication that he’s even listening to Heechul. This annoys him, because it’s just plain rude and Siwon should be listening, because it’s important.

“You know, I-” He is cut of from his angry tirade when Siwon kisses him roughly, his hands pressed to either side of Heechul’s face. Heechul wrenches himself away with a gasp. “Warn me before you do that,” he says with his arms folded and bruised lips.

Siwon laughs. “Sorry,” he says, without sounding it. He kisses his way up Heechul’s neck.

Heechul sits down on the bed and pulls Siwon down on top of his. “But it’s really important,” he protests.

“Hmm?” Siwon murmurs, and pulls Heechul’s shirt over his head. Heechul starts on Siwon’s belt and files whatever it was that he was going to say away for later.

He doesn’t think it’s fair to do it while Siwon has his fingerprints bruised into his hips.

If you weren't so wise beyond your years
I would've been able to control myself

Maybe he should do it now, he thinks. Now, while it’s dark and slow and tired, and Siwon is holding him around the waist tightly. Yes, he should do it now, when Siwon is less likely to yell at him, or cry (he doesn’t think he will do either, but he’s never had to break up with someone before). It’s very warm on Siwon’s chest and he’s very tired and he should do it now.

Siwon pushes him away gently and swings his legs over the edge of the bed and begins to fumble in the dark for his jeans. “I should get going,” he whispers, and smiles apologetically at where he thinks Heechul might be under the covers. “I might fall asleep otherwise.”

Heechul doesn’t give any indication that he’s heard: he merely turns over. Suddenly he’s very uncomfortable and cold, and he suspects that it’s because Siwon has left the bed (it was, after all, very warm when Siwon was here). This, he thinks, is just not on. Why should he have to suffer just because Siwon has to go?

Siwon switches on the light to look for something else, possibly his t-shirt that Heechul threw to the other side of the room around two hours earlier. Heechul groans and huddles under the covers. He is obviously too tired to put up with any of this and he’s forgotten what it was that he was supposed to do, and only knows that it’s important. “Siwon,” he says, in a muffled but obviously annoyed voice, “if you don’t turn that light off and get back into bed, I will actually never sleep with you ever again.”

Siwon doesn’t even seem to consider his possibilities - the light is flipped off instantaneously, and a couple of seconds later a body slips into the bed next to Heechul, an arm wraps around his waist and Heechul settles onto his back as Siwon shifts onto his front. That’s better, Heechul thinks as he snuggles up. Such a nice blanket.

There really wouldn’t be any point in doing it when Siwon is asleep.

I know you sexualize me like a young thing would
And I think I like it

“It’s not as though you’re dating or anything,” says Hankyung, in a tone of voice which says quite clearly that he knows that he’s got the moral high ground here, because he’s not in a sexual relationship with a younger man who’s about to get his heart broken.

“I know,” says Heechul.

“I don’t know why you started this thing any way,” continues Hankyung. “It’s just going to end in tears, probably Siwon’s. He’s my friend, and you’re going to destroy him.”

“I know.” Heechul glares at him. “You’re really annoying when you’re right.”

“What?” Hankyung asks with a vague wave of the hands and a blank expression. “I didn’t understand that.”

Heechul knows that, really, if he killed Hankyung in his sleep, he’d actually be doing the whole world a favour, and many other members of the band would thank him for it.

Kibum agrees (about Siwon, not that killing Hankyung is a good idea), and Heechul begins to feel that the whole world is against him. It really is not his fault that Siwon came onto him, he tells Kibum. Actually, he came onto to Siwon, but he flirts with everyone and Siwon should have really known better than to flirt back. He’s a big boy now. Kibum ignores him and pointedly talks to Donghae instead.

He’ll do it tonight.

Except he remembers when he decides that, that tonight is a group performance and he can’t let Siwon go on stage with a broken heart. So he vows to do it after, and he avoids Siwon like he’s got the plague. He’s in make-up when Siwon arrives, he’s getting dressed when Siwon is in make-up and he’s talking to Hankyung when Siwon is ready. He ducks and dives and avoids and he should really be ashamed of himself, but the mantra of don’t break Siwon’s heart yet, don’t break Siwon’s heart yet, is repeating in his head and driving him insane.

“Hyung.”

And Siwon is right in front of him and there’s nowhere to run and oh fuck.

“Sorry, Siwon, I’m in a hurry,” he says quickly, but as he goes to brush past, Siwon’s fingers find his wrist and pull him back.

“Good luck, hyung,” says Siwon, and kisses him softly before pulling away. Heechul stands there for a few minutes, until one of the camera men comes up to see where he’s got to. He can’t even remember the performance, a blur of screaming girls and too-bright lights. Afterwards he grabs Siwon with one hand and pulls him into the nearest cupboard. Hankyung ventures in five minutes later with his eyes covered to drag them out and Heechul ignores the disappointed look Hankyung gives him.

Heechul doesn’t think it’s fair to do it while Siwon has those marks on his neck.

I wish I could tell the world cause
You're such a pretty thing when you're done up properly

Today. He’s going to do it today, because the situation is getting out of hand and it’s a nice day and Siwon wants them to actually go out today and that is simply taking things too far.

“10 o’clock, at the station,” said Siwon, when Hankyung was storming off ahead of them after the concert. Heechul almost wanted him to come back and take Siwon away, because he didn’t quite trust his hands or his mouth right then. “I thought we could go see a film and maybe go for something to eat afterwards,” and it was said so casually that Heechul (who was, after all, still in a bit of a daze) didn’t feel like he knew how to refuse (well, he did, but Siwon was still in his stage make-up and that does funny things to the best of people). But he needs to do it today before he gets distracted again.

“You look nice,” says Hankyung, as Heechul goes past into the hall in what Kibum refers to as the ‘should be banned’ jeans and his newest, nicest top. Heechul ignores him, because he always looks nice.

“Want some fried rice?” Hankyung calls from the kitchen.

“I can’t.” Heechul shouts back, as he pulls on Kibum’s expensive trainers that Kibum has never actually got a chance to wear because everyone else keeps stealing them. “I’ve got to go dump Siwon.”

“But Heechul,” says Hankyung, poking his head around the door, “it’s Va-” But the door has already slammed shut.

Siwon is sitting down outside the station doors on the floor when Heechul strolls up five minutes fashionably late. He stands up and dusts himself off and waves as if Heechul hadn’t already noticed him and doesn’t even seem to care that Heechul is late. He kisses Heechul lightly on the cheek - Heechul shakes himself to clear his head and turns to go in (he might as well get a free movie before he gets his hands dirty). Siwon grabs his wrist again. I wish you’d stop doing that, thinks Heechul, it’s really rather distracting.

“Happy Valentines day, hyung!” Siwon says and hands him a slim black box which contains a thin silver chain, similar to the one that Eeteuk has that Heechul likes to steal, but infinitely more expensive. He picks it up with trembling hands and motions for Siwon to help him put it on, because he wants it, wants to wear it like he’s never wanted anything else in the world.

“I didn’t get you anything,” he says softly, touching the silver around his neck.

“That’s ok,” said Siwon, and grins widely. “You can just get me something on White Day if you want. I don’t mind being a girl for a day.”

That smile does something strange to Heechul. He blinks. It feels like something is released in his chest, something raw and animalistic, and he lunges forward and kisses Siwon like he’s a drowning man and Siwon is his oxygen. When he pulls away, Siwon is staring at him in a way that makes him look quite stupid. “Shut your mouth,” Heechul tells him, and begins to walk off. It takes Siwon a couple of minutes to even realise he’s gone. He runs up behind, takes his hand and laughs. Heechul doesn’t let him see his smile.

When they’re in town and Siwon is waiting in line for tickets for that film that Heechul absolutely has to see, but of which is he doesn’t know the name, Heechul sneaks off to the jewellery store to order a silver bracelet. “Put my initials on,” he orders the shop assistant. After all, if Siwon is going to be in a dating-hand-holding-love kind of relationship, then everyone should at least know who he belongs to.

In the end, Heechul decides that it really wouldn’t be fair on himself.

I might want to marry you one day
If you watch that weight and you keep your firm body.
