“Rin ought to know better by now.” Kagome mumbled as she ducked into the cool hut.
Her eyes scanned the row of shelves. “Now, where were those herbs for stomach aches?”
“On the top shelf, Miko. Just where they were last time.”
Kagome turned in time to see Sesshomaru bending to enter the hut. She frowned, looking up at the unreachable pot.
“You could help, you know,” She huffed.
Sesshomaru arched an imperious brow; then, with graceful, deliberate movements, he placed a short, three-legged stool near her feet. With grit teeth and uncharitable thoughts, Kagome stepped onto the precariously wobbling stool, stretching to reach for the pot of herbs. She muttered mild curses as her fingertips barely grazed the container, and Sesshomaru’s ever-critical gaze narrowed on the hem of her short green skirt, which climbed higher every moment.
Suddenly, the stool tipped and tottered. Kagome’s stomach lurched as she fell backward - and into the arms of the waiting taiyokai.
“Hn.” He righted her before turning to leave.
“But the herbs-”
“I have received what I came for.”
Kagome shivered at the faint trail of claws on the bare skin of her thighs.
“Mind your skirt.”
Then, Kagome caught him smirking.
