Sesshomaru landed near the bank of a river with an unconscious Kagome held firmly to his chest. Sitting down he arranged her on his lap and dipped his hand in the cool, running water. He didn't have a cloth but found running his wet fingers across her forehead, cheeks and throat rather pleasing. He dipped his hand in again and repeated the process, slowly, finishing off by drying his hand in her hair. He did this a third time and Kagome's eyes fluttered open. She turned her head pressing a wet cheek against his skin.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
