“No! Don't hurt him!”

Inuyasha jumped out of the well, Kagome in his arms, ears flat on his head and ringing from the intensity of Kagome's yell. They looked around fearing the worst.

Several sets of eyes turned to them blinking in confusion. Sesshomaru looked unfazed but stared pointedly at Inuyasha's arms still surrounding Kagome.

Kagome was befuddled at the scene. Sango and Miroku were sitting on the ground looking quite calm. Shippo, Rin and Jaken stared at her and frozen mid-step from an obvious game of tag nearby. Sesshomaru himself was slightly off to one side, his usual stoic expression slipping into one of irritation as the silence went on and Inuyasha's grip on Kagome had yet to relax.

“Why the hell aren't you guys trying to kill each other?”

Miroku sighed and stood brushing off his robes.

“Well, without a brash half demon yelling and swinging his sword around we were able to ask questions first not later.”

Inuyasha scowled. Sango stood up and jogged to Kagome who squirmed out of Inuyasha's hold to hug her.

“Sesshomaru explained everything. All we could really do was wait for your return with Inuyasha to hear your side.”

“Sesshomaru-sama is our ally,” Miroku continued, “ and as such deserved the benefit of the doubt. I think we all understood his actions were based on the curse and our only concern was your safety after all Kagome-sama.”

“My, what a intelligent young man!”

Gramps scowled as he watched Kagome through the mirror.

“I can't believe you get sound as well as picture with this.”

“Well, I am using a larger conduit father. Kagome's backpack is for more than just ramen.”

Gramps frowned.

“Don't be so blue father. You just need more practice.”
