“Inuyasha is going to be so surprised,” Kagome said.
“Why?” Sesshomaru asked as he headed up the drive leading to Inuyasha’s home.
“You never come for dinner when we’re invited. Ayame and Koga always bring me.”
“I’ve been to his place for dinner before, just not recently,” Sesshomaru replied. “He’s not going to be surprised.”
Sesshomaru parked and walked over to Kagome’s door, helping her into her wheelchair before heading to the front door.
After opening the door and seeing his brother, Inuyasha was in shock. “Sesshomaru?! I’m surprised you’re here.”
Kagome grinned at Sesshomaru.
“Why? You invited me.”
“I know I did, but you haven’t accepted an invitation in a long, long time.”
“Are you going to invite us in, or are you going to leave us standing out here in the cold.”
“Sorry, come in.”
“I brought homemade banana nut bread,” Kagome said, handing Inuyasha the loaf.
“Oh my god, this is my favorite. I’m hiding it.”
“It’s for everyone,” Kagome scolded. “I’ll make you your own and send it with Sesshomaru,” Kagome added as they headed to the dining room.
Sesshomaru chuckled at their banter as he fingered the velvet box he had in his pants' pocket.
