With the music at a volume that was far from normal, Kagome strolled through Tokyo ignoring everything around her. Playing was her favorite song which was driving her mad. She was on her way home from a marriage interview. Grandfather wanted to choose her husband. Kagome, 25, was single and uninterested in any relationship. She'd left her heart in Feudal Japan, five years ago she'd defeated Naraku. The wish on the jewel had sent her back and sealed the well.
With a sad smile Kagome recalled his image, her love and intended mate. His long silver hair had been swirling in the breeze his yokai created. His molten amber eyes had smiled at her as she prepared to wish upon the jewel. She had wished for everyone's life to be the way it should, and that they'd all get their happiness that had been stolen. In the moments before she'd been sent back to the future she'd seen how her friends got their gift.
Kikyo was back as a complete human woman, this time loving and kind. Sango and Miroku were going to get married and Sango got Kohaku back. Shippo's parents had come back. Sesshomaru got Inu no Taisho back. Kagome had thought that she'd be moving in with Sesshomaru after he finished courting her. They had talked about it, they planned on mating after following the customs of courting.
Even now while looking back Kagome couldn't understand why she'd been sent back. Her happiness wasn't here, the memories stirred to life by this song was proof. She longed to be back in Feudal Japan with Sesshomaru. For whatever reason, this suggestive song about changing your fate was making her instinctual longing increase. So why couldn't she stop listening to this singer's voice and remember her lost love's voice?
