Prompt: Tradition

Sesshomaru moved swiftly, the scent of fresh water growing stronger. It wouldn’t be long before Kagome’s nerve endings became over sensitized, her pain agonizing. Her power should have purified his poison, but she was weakened by her injuries.

Traditionally, Sesshomaru would have left her to die. He had no need for humans- they were weak, disgusting creatures who coated the land like a plaque.

But for some reason, Sesshomaru felt the need to protect her; he was drawn to Kagome, just as he’d been drawn to Rin.

He knew other demons wouldn’t understand- he wasn’t sure he understood it himself.
