Summary: 500 years ago losing her to his brother became his biggest regret. Now, is his chance. Desperation breeds deception.
He’s been waiting for this moment for centuries.
Him, her, and a temporarily broken well.
She knows not her future… and he will never tell.
Memories eat him alive.
Her smiling face, her aged hands intertwined with another’s.
‘Once…’ he reminds himself, but never again.
In the darkness of the well house she mistakes him for his brother.
It’s a dagger to his chest, spurs his plan forward.
At last she asks the right question.
"You never make it back,” he lies.
The droplet shines accusingly falling down her distraught cheek.
She shatters.
He holds her together and feels complete.
