Summary: Young Kagome visits the market...

The market was filled with adults bustling from one stall to the next. They pushed and shoved and minded only their own business. If not, they would have noticed the small girl who shambled across the lanes between the stalls, her naked toes often got flattened beneath nicely polished leather shoes. Yet, Kagome came to this place nevertheless, for the air held such sweetness and therefor she even put up with the aching pain in both, her feet and her stomach.

She halted in front of a fruit and veg stall and gaped at the colourful gifts nature provided those people with. Red, yellow and green were not the only colours that glowed in the sun and there were many fruits and vegetables she did not know the name of. If only she could read the signs...

Suddenly something was held out to her. Something red and yellow that looked like an apple with soft fur which emitted a deliciously sweet smell.

“Do you want a peach, little lady?”

She looked up and a smiling man. Her eyes widened. This man’s eyes were of a colour that was non-existent in her grey world, too: They were golden.

Kagome ran away.
