chapter 1 chapter 2

Nino was jumpy throughout the day and he couldn’t focus well in class, his mind constantly drifting back to the events of the previous night. Which left him in a constant semi hard state, his hands kept going to scratch at the hickey that burns his skin. He knew he should focus on class because Sakurai-sensei was unforgiving and being left behind means never catching up with his full on lessons.

He forced thoughts of last night out of his head and tried his hardest to concentrate on lessons, scribbling furiously into his notebook. Trying to push away thoughts of last night by thinking of all the difficult problems Sakurai set for them to try and make his semi go down too.

‘Pssstt, Nino? You okay? You’re fidgeting a lot.” Aiba whispered beside him. Nino tried to ignore him but Aiba kept whispering to him and nudging his foot under the table.

“Hey, Nino.. tell me what’s...”

Suddenly there was a loud slamming sound on the table and everyone jump from their seats.

“Aiba-san, I suggest if you want to talk to Ninomiya-san, that you both please leave my class. Your constant whispering is really annoying me.”

Aiba paled quickly and stammered his apologies, Nino felt sorry for Aiba, he knew Aiba had a crush on Sakurai-sensei, and that’s precisely why he worked extra hard in his class to please him. Why, Nino could never figure out, Sakurai-sensei was so strict and up-tight.

“No sensei, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t do it again, there’s only 10 minutes left till class is over, whatever you have to say to Ninomiya-san, can and will wait.” Sakurai sensei said sternly, turning his back towards them again to start writing on the board.

Nino smiled apologetically at Aiba and mouth soundlessly at him “later”. He went back to focusing on his notes when he suddenly felt the same presence that he normally felt from the man in his dreams. Nino started to panic internally, checking his watch repeatedly hoping for time to go faster, eight more minutes. Eight long minutes, Nino wanted out of this class and he wanted out now. his breathing accelerated and his face flush as he remember the night before. He shifted in his seat more than ever, his eyes going around the room to try and locate the presence, no longer focusing on the lesson.

When Sakurai-sensei finish his class, Nino packed up his stuff in record speed and squeeze his way out amongst all the students rushing for their other class. In his rush and panic state, he didn’t notice the man standing by the class door, his sleepy but sharp pair of eyes watching the crowd of students, a smirk grace his lips…..“I will find you...”

Nino heard that voice, filled with such promise, but he refused to look back, refused to acknowledge whatever was happening and ran to his next class. He heard Aiba shouting his name as well but he kept walking briskly and purposely away.

--------

Sho sighed out loud when the class empty out, what was he going to do about Masaki. The man drove him nuts when they were in the same room, and with his heightened senses, he could smell the man even when he was way up front, he could hear his heart beat, and earlier on, hear the breathy voice he used when whispering to Ninomiya, and it drove him nuts. Sho was also a descendent of mages, but he choose to work with humans instead as he found them fascinating.

At the moment he could also tell that his leader was outside the door waiting for the last students to leave before entering the room and locking it.

“Satoshi….”

“How does your student keep up with your demon schedule.” Ohno chuckled out lightly. “Even the last five minutes was intense!”

Sho grinned at his leader, “They’ll learn to get use to it. What brings you here Satoshi?”

Ohno’s face turn serious quickly, he stood to face Sho, locking eyes with him.

“I need your help.” Ohno said, he heard the desperate and serious edge to Ohno’s voice and was shock to see how he look this close up. His leader look horrible, he look tired, worn out and stress, but underneath it all Sho could sense determination and anger.

“You look terrible Satoshi, I heard from Jun you have been sleeping a lot but you don’t look like a well rested man.”

He sighed and leaned by a desk, closing his eyes, he could smell the lingering citrusy smell of his mate, tingled with his own unique scent and a mild scent of arousal was detected. Ohno grinned smugly to himself, happy to know his mate was still affected by last nights event. What made him happier was that he was right to guess that his mate was indeed Sho’s student.

“You went from grumpy to smiling creepily in a second Satoshi, are you going to explain why you are here?”

“You sound a little testy yourself Sho,” Ohno said exasperatedly and fixed Sho with a stare, “My mate is a student of yours and I’ve come to find him.”

Sho gave him a wide eye look, “Are you sure? No one in my class seems good enough to be the mate of our leader…” Sho paused when Ohno snarl at his words, “Sorry, I do not mean to belittle your mate, in my eyes only Aiba is worthy.”

Ohno nodded understandingly, this soul bonding thing drove them crazy and possessive, and he can understand, to him, only his mate was the best, but he still snarled at Sho anyway.

“Aiba is in this class?”

“….Yes”

“You still haven’t approach him?”

“No, I won’t approach him while he is still my student, it is not our time yet. But I watch him, even in our dreams, I just watch in the shadows as he plays in our garden.” Sho said in a low tone.

“Don’t give him and yourself such a hard time Sho.”

“I know, it’s just one more year, I can take it. But enough about me.” Sho said quickly, changing the topic. “Satoshi, you sleep a lot, that should mean you are spending time with your mate so why do you find the need to seek him out now?”

“That’s because he is avoiding me! He doesn’t take a long enough sleep to appear in our garden! I won’t be surprise if he’s even avoiding sleep! It’s been a week since I saw him, but last night… Last night he must be too tired and he fell asleep so he came into our garden and I saw him again! But he vanish before… before….. before I even saw his face!”

“I have a feeling it’s not so much not seeing his face that has got you mad” Sho said knowingly.

Ohno ignore the jibe and continue on, “He avoids me! I sense he is afraid of what’s happening, that he believes he is slowly turning mad. He doesn’t really talk when we’re together, I barely know anything about him! At least you choose to avoid Aiba out of your own free will for now, but you know his name and how he looks. I know nothing! Not a single damn thing! And if I don’t do something about it, I myself will go mad!”

Sho could sympathize with his leader, before discovering your mate, life was peaceful, you did anything you wanted, go anywhere you wanted, and sleep with anyone you want. But once your mate reaches 20 and your soul connects, your peaceful days are over till they bond. Days were spent consume by thoughts of your mate, to be with them, to bond with them. No one else will excite you the way your mate does, it was also a test of control for them. Even Sho wasn’t spared from this, because he refused to meet with Aiba yet in their garden, that meant he went without a lay for a few years now, relying only on his hand to ease the frustration.

So he understand the frustration Ohno felt, and could only image the stress Ohno had, being their leader but also having to act like a lovesick teenager out of his will. He was right, it was easier for him since he choose to wait it out but still being able to see Aiba. Ohno on the other hand, has been waiting for his mate for years now and was so excited when they shared their dreams. He watched as Ohno rubbed his face with his hands such exhaustion and desperation that his heart went out to Ohno.

“I’ll help you, but how? You don’t even know what he looks like, how do you know he is my student?”

“Because I can sense his presence here, and I can still smell traces of him even though it’s fading. You’ve always been better than me when it comes to senses. but I….. I also... left a mark on him” Ohno mumbled the last part out.

“A mark? You mean a hickey?” Sho chuckled “We aren’t teenagers anymore Ohno.”

“Can’t help it, I wanted to mark him as mine, he IS mine.” Ohno growled possessively.

“Okay, well since you say you can still kinda smell him and sense a bit of his aura, I can give you a few names if you show me the area.”

Ohno concentrate hard and breathes deeply, scanning the area, he pointed towards the middle row. “Somewhere there.”

Sho raised his eyebrow, “Okay, we can cross out Aiba, since he is my mate, but the others who sit there are Chinen Yuri, Ninomiya Kazunari, and Ikuta Toma. We can cross out Ikuta-san as well, he was wearing a singlet today and I saw no mark, unless you mark him in a more discreet area?” Sho suggested impishly.

“It’s on the junction of his neck and shoulder.” Ohno growled out.

“Okay, so Aiba is out, so is Ikuta, so shall we go around to find Ninomiya-san or Chinen-san, and see if either of them have a mark?” Sho joked.

“That can be cover up with makeup…”

Sho stared at Ohno and thought to himself that Ohno must be having it bad if he can’t even seem to think straight. He ignore this and said,

“Or you can use your senses to see whether its him. Aiba and Nino are friends so I should be able to track him down and we can have a look. We should be able to find Chinen somewhere on campus. Come let’s not waste anymore time before you finally go crazy and do something you regret.” Sho packed his stuff up and headed out, as Ohno fell into step behind him.

Ohno grinned to himself, oh that’s much too late, he already has plans for his mate and he won’t regret it.

“Soon, soon I will find you and you won’t be able to escape me so easily.”

Chapter 4

A/N: How was this? I'm honestly not happy about chapter three onwards, how it is being written, I just can't seem to develop good plots for chapter fics. I'm my hardest critic, actually I think most writers are! XD
But yes! introduction to Sakuraiba too!! They're soul bonded too, but I'm not sure if I will write much of their side of the story. ><
I'll take any suggestion anyone can give about this story! Cause I am at my wits end, I think the first two chapters promise so much but its going to be flat from here.
