I went ahead and paid for my Smart Serve training program. My dad is insisting I wait until I get a serving job before I get it, but in most cases you have to have it before you get a serving job. I managed to get a job at the restaurant even though I said I was "working on it" (lol lie). It was $36, and I see a lot of job ads for servers that they are willing to train but they have to have a smart serve first.
It's only going to take a few hours to complete online but I have to go to work in a few hours and I don't want to rush it and fail the test lol I'm told it's easy but whatever. I'll do it tomorrow. At least now I'll have the training and some restaurant experience if I need to get a job, serving pays well if you get tipped well.
