Jenn Grant and Love Actually
Yesterday afternoon I was checking the Queen's Journal website, and in the Arts & Entertainment section, they had a list of concerts coming to Kingston. I saw that Jenn Grant would be playing that evening, so I told Lena because she loves Jenn Grant. We ended up going together. It was at a place called Casey something's Living Room, which was sketchy, but it turned out to just be the basement of a banquet hall (which used to be a church). This would be my first non-Frosh Week concert. It was a really cool place, really chill. It had some couches, high tables and chairs, and a bar at the back. Lena and I were really early so we came in and the only people in the room was Jenn Grant and some guys from a different band and the bartenders.
We ordered a couple of drinks and hung out. People started coming in. Lena had assured me we would meet some really cool artsy people at a concert like this.
Every person who came in was at least 70 years old. We were the ONLY teenagers in the entire room. And they ALL KNEW EACH OTHER! LOL They even knew the bartenders!!
The show was really nice. It turns out Jenn Grant was the opener for a local Kingston band. She played and it was really good and she is so cute. After her set, it was like 10:30 so Lena and I decided to head out. We were the only ones who did so we are guessing everyone else was there to see the other band. lol We talked to Jenn for a bit. She said she really liked our outfits and showed us some secret new album artwork for her next one.
This morning was a very lazy morning. Emily got home when I was making coffee. She had brunch with Amy on campus, and she suggested we watch Love Actually. We all love that movie, and we made Will watch it with us.
I think in Love Actually, I would be the girl, Sarah. The one without an accent who works in Alan Rickman's office. Her love life just doesn't seem to fall into place. That movie made me want snow. It's too warm, it sucks.
Anyway... I didn't do enough work. I feel like I just woke up and now it's already dusk. :(
