Been a bit blah lately, feeling like stuff (ie: projects/to-do items) takes too long to do, so why bother starting? So of course I started (and finished)
DeathSpank. (Yay
Ron Gilbert!) It was good, and grinding near the end for an achievement wasn't too bad. One of the funniest parts was
when you have to rescue an orphan, and she refuses to leave the Demon Mines until you give her candy. I thought, "ha! I bought a lollipop at the store just in case!" So I give it to her, and then she's all, "I want a cell phone!" "What do you need a cell phone for?" "To update my blog, duh!" So I go and get the phone which has now appeared at the store, and the description is something like, "We were going to call this something else, but we didn't want to get sued." :). Now the intertubes are buzzing about indie game
Limbo, so I should check that out sometime.
Not that many people reading here go there much any more, but a little while ago I added
something to AnimeMusicVideos.org to let you select "top videos" and hide other ones. For example, in
my profile I've hidden MEPs like the DDR Projects (since I uploaded my individual segments) and other MEPs where I didn't contribute much. (/me goes to
kusoyaro's profile and hides everything but
Ugly Girl)
I also added the "AMV Spotlight" to the
front page to give new/non-users a sample of what's available.
So 1 vs 100 XBLA
is no more. Unfortunately I'm not surprised, given the amount of time passed since season 3, the problems dispensing prizes, and the lack of advertisers. I can only remember Telus and Doritos here, and from what I heard it was Sprint and Capri Sun in the States. From the comments, there were a decent number of people who bought Gold subscriptions (and even 360s themselves) just for 1 vs 100. Crazy. The team that built the game built it with future shows in mind so it'll be nice if something else comes along later on, but it'll have to be pretty good to make up for the ill will from canning this title.
For whatever reason, I send links via IMs but rarely post them. So some of this stuff is old.
