OOC: Because all the other kids are doing it.

A condensation of the application and information from the web, I am pleased to introduce Dōjima Yurika.  You can call her Dōjima, no honorific needed.  Unless, of course, you're cute.  THEN you can call her Yurika.

First person to call her Yuri or Yuri-chan?  DIES.  Painfully.

About Witch Hunter Robin:

Witch Hunter Robin was released in 2002 by Sunrise.  It follows the STN-J, the Japanese branch of a secretive global organization called "SOLOMON" that fights the harmful use of witchcraft, utilizing a database of those who have (or inherited from their parents) the power of witchcraft, so as to arrest or eliminate them should their powers "awaken". The series focuses on one of the STN-J's members, Robin Sena.

The series begins with the recruitment of Robin Sena as a replacement for an STN-J member who was lost in action. Robin is a craft user who was born in Japan and raised in an Italian convent. Robin's "craft" is pyrokinesis, and she has been secretly trained by the Roman Catholic Church in Italy to use her craft (fire) to hunt down witches.

In the world of WHR, Witchcraft is a genetic trait, dormant within a number of individuals within the human population. However, powers can be awakened in these dormant human "seeds" at any time. Trained hunters, usually craft-users or seeds themselves, are needed to keep watch over seeds and hunt those whose abilities become active, serving in secret organizations, such as the parent branch Solomon (and the STN-J branch in Japan), as self-appointed police to curtail the use of witchcraft in society.

Robin is sent to Japan to gain information for Solomon headquarters about a fabled secret technique, while acting as a new hunter to the STN-J in their efforts to capture witches. However, once there she finds that the STN-J are working on a liquid called "Orbo", capable of deactivating a witch's craft, though at the cost of weakening those who use it. Eventually, as the story progresses, Robin herself becomes a target of Solomon and labeled a witch, becoming "hunted".

That's nice, now tell us about this Doujima...Dojima...Dōjima....Yurika person!

At the start of the series, Dōjima Yurika is an eighteen-year-old, blonde-haired and blue-eyed young woman who works for the STN-J, a branch of the STN located in Japan.  Dōjima is what one might call the black sheep of the group, only she's not a rebel. She's carefree, a little ditzy, often late for work, stuck up, and pretty girly.  She never gets in trouble for her behavior because she’s “special.”  Dōjima occasionally talks about her family, and it is quite clear that she only got her job because of her family's influence.  She seems to especially get under the skin of the Chief of the STN-J, who is found yelling at her frequently. These rants don't phase Dōjima in the least, and she usually has something witty to come back with.

Seen as carefree, lazy, narcissistic, vain, and immature, Yurika would sooner go shopping than go on a mission. She is consistently late for work and rarely does anything around the office. According to her, her parents had STN-J act as somewhat of her "caretakers" and had the authority to get STN-J in trouble. She also disappoints the other workers, acting somewhat stuck-up, and doing the most minimal work during missions, ditching them immediately when she no longer needs to play a role.

Powers! This is Fandom, what Voodoo can You Do?  !!!  SPOILERS  !!!

While not a power per-se, Yurika is bilingual.  She grew up speaking both English and Japanese, and is fluent in both.  Since she's lazy, however, her speech is filled with slang, and she doesn't always end a sentance in the language she started in.  Trying to remember which language she's been using is too much work, ne?

Dōjima's ditzy, girly attitude, is merely a façade, and near the end of the show she reveals herself to be a double agent, sent by Solomon to discover what was really going on at the STN-J.

Upon her arrival at Fandom, Yurika has already had extensive weapons training as part of her education from SOLOMON.  She is an excellent shot with her Walther P-99, and she’s completed basic hand-to-hand training with flying colors.  Yurika also recently started formally studying Judo, where she has received her yellow belt.

Ironically, she will be hiding these abilities for the most part while at Fandom.  Should she be spotted shooting something, or defending herself during a BDE, she’s going to try and brush it off as ‘just getting lucky’ or that ‘all famous girls like me need to know a little karate.  The boys get pushy sometimes, ya know?’.

For Yurika to become a Hunter with STN-J, it is implied that she is a Seed, someone with the genetic potential to become a Craft user, since regular humans have adverse reactions to working with the Orbo.  Any magic users on campus might be able to sense a latent potential, but Yurika's only power at this time is shopping and partying.  Yurika will not develop any Craft while at Fandom High.

Last, but far from least, Dojima is also a phenomenal actress, flirt, and liar.  She has an almost photographic memory for keeping her stories straight.

So, if Yurika's so clever, why is she at Fandom? SPOILERS AHOY!!!!

In the series, Dōjima saved the day by revealing herself to be an undercover operative of SOLOMON, and she called in the cavalry.

She’s coming to Fandom at age seventeen, prior to the start of the series.  Dōjima has already been recruited by SOLOMON, and they’re sending her off to “an elite, special prep-school” to prepare for her undercover work.  Her parents think she’s gotten a scholarship to a school that specializes in helping society girls graduate and achieve a respectable “Mrs” degree with a minimum of college work, and couldn’t be happier.

Yurika has always been a bit of a problem child for her family.  She’s exceedingly intelligent, and has always wanted to go into law enforcement, but her parents frown on any grades higher than a B.  Her family has a different goal for Yurika - a few token years in STN-J after high school for show, and then marriage to a man of their choosing.  They expect her to be a perfect doll, just like the other girls in the Dōjima clan.

So she indulged them, sort of.  Yurika made sure she made headlines in the society papers - for all the wrong reasons.  At boarding school after boarding school she gained a reputation for being a party girl, a flirt, and an airhead before being inevitably expelled.  She never missed a chance to be seen at a party or be photographed

To SOLOMON, Dojima is the perfect candidate to infiltrate STN-J.  She’s rich, beautiful, and from a powerful family that already has ties to the organization.  She was easy to recruit, because she was fed up with her family’s plans for her.

Deciding that Yurika needs a more specialized training, SOLOMON has arranged for her to attend Fandom.  Both Yurika and SOLOMON know *exactly* what kind of school Fandom High is, and think it's the perfect place for some field training.

Because honestly, there's no enviroment more hostile than high school.

ETA:  If you are a magic user of any kind or have some sort of power and use your abilities in front of Yurika?  Be prepared for screaming.

In her world, anyone who uses powers openly/for fun is a Witch, and would be Hunted immediately.  Craft users don't actually use their power unless they have to, whereas Witches use it whenever.  It's an entirely arbitrary distinction made by the local branches of SOLOMAN, and it isn't fair, but that's what she knows.  While Yurika herself doesn't actually have anything against Craft users or Witches herself, a typical girl from her world would freak out, so she'll react IC.
