0. Fool Arcana
In confusion, they don’t know where they were or how they got here. When they meet, they promised to help each other out.
I. Magician Arcana
Allen continued to be impressed by Atsuro’s knowledge and work effort. Even knowing the older boy prefers working his brain over fighting, he did try to train as much as possible.
II. Priestess Arcana
Maybe it’s just him, but Atsuro seemed very tired these days, Allen mused when he saw the other boy sleeping under a tree on school campus. Judging from the book on his lap, he probably wasn’t planning on it.
Smiling, Allen brought out his water bottle and walked over.
III. Empress Arcana
Both of them aren’t quite used to being fussed over. Atsuro, because of his parents’ work, and Allen, for his...childhood. It’s not something they both talked about, either because he wasn’t asked about it or don’t want too many sympathies.
When the both of them got fussed over, they shared an awkward look with each other.
IV. Emperor Arcana
They’re not really leaders, even if, sometimes, they found themselves taking charge. He preferred being the supporter from the side, helping out but not stands in the spotlight. He wished to save as much as possible without caring about glory.
V. Hierophant Arcana
For all the advancements the modern world made and he marvelled over, sometimes Allen missed the technological level from the era he’s from. In a quiet admittance to him, Atsuro just smile and nodded.
VI. Lovers Arcana
The awkwardness after that week was, well, awkward. Atsuro was afraid that their friendship was ruined by what almost happened and almost wanted to run away.
When Allen approached him, after they talked, it feels like a weight just got lifted off their shoulders. And he’s very glad.
VII. Chariot Arcana
That was the second time Atsuro died in battle. The wait for his revival was very hard. What if Allen was faster? Summon Attis quicker for a healing spell?
It’s hard to feel relieved when he didn’t blame him once Atsuro’s back to life.
VIII. Justice Arcana
There have been arguments over what is ‘fair’ and ‘right’, especially over the more dangerous Persona users on the island.
Somehow, both of them end up debating for the same side.
IX. Hermit Arcana
Being inside for that long can’t be healthy. After all the time he knows Atsuro, Allen knew he won’t turn down an honest invitation to spend time together.
X. Fortune Arcana
There have been comments about ‘fate’ going around. That it might be fate for them to come here and fight against these Shadows for the city. Though they do fight, they fight because they choose to do so, not because they’re fated to.
XI. Strength Arcana
Allen like watching and listening to Atsuro being passionate, even when he got lost at times because of the latter’s hobbies.
But sometimes, when he thought no one was watching, he’d spy an expression of uncertainty on his friend’s face, before he walked over and call out to him, cheerfully. To distract him from his negative thoughts.
XII. Hanged Man Arcana
Atsuro was shocked and pissed after watching Allen take a blow for him. Knowing that their allies would jump in with a healing spell, he yelled at the white haired boy and his recklessness. Don’t you dare die, Allen Walker.
XIII. Death Arcana
For so long, they lived and grown used to Prospero, day and night. Once, Atsuro considered flying out, but his curiosity about the mysteries kept him, but the temptations nagged him.
Then, Allen admitted to not staying in one place for so long like this. They had a simple, yet meaningful chat about travelling.
XIV. Temperance Arcana
It can be tough, balancing their nightly activities with their obligations during the day. If they picked the wrong day to train, they’d be too tired the next day for anything. There’s also the fact that they need to keep up their studies, too. So some nights was sacrificed for studying instead of training or relaxing.
For some of those nights, Allen would ask for Atsuro to tutor him on a few subjects.
XV. Devil Arcana
Another month, another Shadow, another change on the population’s mind.
They’re no different and arguably, it’s worst than the Lovers. If Kanda haven’t walked in and see them, one with his back against the wall and the other was leaning close with an intense look, who knows what they would do?
XVI. Tower Arcana
People come and go, for the better or worst. But they’re still here, and changed, little by little. Or majorly, such as when he found out about the other’s life...which only helped deepen their bond.
XVII. Star Arcana
Another month come and go, marking yet another month they’ve been in this place and world. Others still try to maintain hope that they can go back to their true home. Others have already considered Prospero as their home, instead.
One was torn between staying, where he felt needed and can help, and wishing to return. The other enjoyed the peace between the full moons, but know he have his vow to stop the war.
XVIII. Moon Arcana
They both know what it’s like to hide, using a façade to cover their true feelings. And some people underestimated how perceptive Atsuro can be, at times, when he just knows Allen was anything but ‘fine’.
XIX. Sun Arcana
When they moved up a grade in school when the year started, Allen couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride at this. He don’t have that much chance to get an education, and it’s tough sometimes, but...he kind of understand why people continue attending school and work hard.
As far as the system saw him, he’s that much closer to have a good future. He smile and wave at Atsuro, who’s coming over to congratulate him.
XX. Judgement Arcana
It’s the end. They finally found the real cause behind why they’re in Prospero. Now, they have the option to go home...or stay in this world, forever.
All of them changed since they first arrived on that fateful night, for the better or worst. For some, the choice was easy, while others want to take their time. But they must pick quickly, or else their chance of returning will be gone.
Forever.
XXI. The World Arcana
He chose to go back. The wars still need to be stopped and he knows he must stop the Millennium Earl and the Noah Family. It will be dangerous, very much more so than Prospero in some aspect. And if he goes back, he’ll get his Innocence and him back, both of him. The curse that reside in his left eye and the voice of the 14th, which was worrying and a sense of relief.
He was indecisive. He got his working parents, his friends and teacher waiting for him, whether they realised he’s missing or not. But here, he also has his bonds with his friends and allies that chose to stay. He’s not like those who stay because they’re dead in their world, he’s still alive.
As he think, he was approached by the other, who gave him a smile. Not sure what to say, he stuttered over his words at first, before smoothing it out and smile back. Even if they’re from the same world, but different time periods, by the time he was born, his friend would’ve die already. From the war he heard about, or simply the passage of time.
Even so... “I hope we see each other again, Allen.”
“I hope so as well.” Idly, Atsuro thought how Allen changed, who used to speak more politely around him. A part of him was happy that his friend considered him a close enough friend to speak more casually, freely.
“Just don’t die too early, alright?” Allen, for his part, had noticed Atsuro grown a lot over the months. More mature, more...open in a way. The older boy always seemed so open, yet well hidden at the same time, but still got that cheerfulness he like.
“Of course. It’ll take a lot to get me down, you know.”
They shared a smile, content to just enjoy each other’s company until it’s time to leave.
