I decided to finally admit that I'll be in the Pierce county area for a while and I should change my registration because this area needs my voting decisions more than the peninsula does. I looked through the voter pamphlet for the primary and looked at my voter registration card, and was dismayed to realize that I am STILL in the 6th congressional district. WHY ARE THERE NO OTHER DEMOCRATIC OPTIONS BESIDES NORM DICKS? I was so sad. There are such interesting choices for district 8, why couldn't I vote there?

Well I then decided that since it's basically been only 2-3 people running for district 6 pretty consistently since I gained the right to vote, it's possible that this trend will continue. Perhaps I'll just need to get into politics in this area and give the public more options. The House is the highest position I'd ever want to hold because it is for representing the people which is what I'd like to do.

It seems a bit far fetched. It also seems quite far-fetched that there would be no other democratic options after all this time. I know there are people who are tired of Norm Dicks and want to try something else. So I figure I'll start looking into politics a bit more rigorously.

There's also this new guy running for county council that is basically saying "someone needs to step up to the plate it might as well be me". He also seems to be better than the other options. I figure what I might do is help him out with his campaign, get to know him better and through that get to know the area politics and such.

We'll see. I've got at least 2 years to figure it out and the election for representatives are every 2 years so I'm not worried about having to rush it. I can wait until I'm ready. And if someone reasonable steps up I can always do something else.
