Authu billah

Salaam u alaikum wrwb,
I knew I would be cut down by some that believe we should wait for a caliph, etc. I have read the well meaning dissertations by others, some of whom didn't allow for comments/ discussions to be posted. I am not a new Muslimah, and I have read on this issue extensively myself. We are not living in a Muslim country. When I see a caliph come to fruition, or an Islamic state, that is following Islam as it should be followed, not adding in cultural baggage, not cowing down to the USA, and is willing to aid in the plight of the many persecuted Muslims around the world... I will make istakara, and make hidjrah happily!, if Allah SWT wills.

Until then, as I said before this is my country of origin, occupied as it may be, and I will not give up my right to vote, no matter what the outcome...May Allah SWT forgive me, and the other Muslims if we are wrong...because we really believe we are within our rights as Muslims living in the west to vote. I know some of you feel, you must speak out as not be held accountable. Insha Allah, may you do it humbly, as our Prophet SAWS did, and be good life examples of his Islamic behavior, because I can tell you from experience...you will be under the microscope.

I am not into making fatwas, because I don't won't to be held accountable for leading Muslims astray, and nor do I want to eat fire! I read a book by Sheikh Bin Baz, Allah ya harma, written for Muslims living in the west, and there was nothing contradictory about voting in it. There are many other sources, organizations, etc. that can advise those interested in this issue. I mean if we really want to start questioning each other about every personal decision we make as Muslims...our existence as an ummah will also be questionable.

We are all Muslims if we say " La il laha il Allah, Mohammadan Rasoolilah ", and Allah SWT knows the intentions of our hearts and actions. It would behoove us at this critical moment in our history to lift each other up in prayer...especially during Ramadan...and support each other.

May He SWT accept the good prayerful intentions, of all Muslims that voted yesterday. Insha Allah, make du'aa for us if you feel we are so wrong, we pray Allah SWT accepts it.

BarakAllah fikum
