Grandma!
Hi! Happy Mother's Day the other day. I enjoyed your story about also not being able to find the gomibako. I looked later and more and more bags of garbage seem to be piling up in that spot. Yes, I do have a heated toilet seat and I don't want to come home to my cold one in America ^_^. The ofuro is the hot tub you're talking about and yes, we have one of those too. And a shower. We also have a sink where the toilet tank top thing would be, and last night I stuck my hands into it and a huge, fast spider sprang out. It was scary. But it is a comfortable place to live. We even have a big washer and dryer! I really like my home-stay parents. Shinseisan just turned 69 and he acts silly like a kid and he gets all excited about me going to see different things in Kyoto, like the monkey park. Akisan is more serious but nice and I like her a lot too. She makes me yummy dinners so I do the dishes as often as possible. I really don't want them to send me to live with someone else in the ward ^_^. I got Akisan flowers for Mother's Day, since flower shops seem to be a big thing here. Oh, the garbage trucks didn't seem particularly smaller to me, but it could be that I'm already used to things being smaller. I saw a pick-up truck at mimurotoji, (there was also an out-of-place, large, new-looking building right in the middle of that area that I couldn't figure out) but I remember when I saw it I thought it seemed a bit strange for Japan.
Today I got a card from my dad that plays star wars music when you open it. It was fun to show my host parents! Well, I better go solidify my lesson plans for tonight. Love you!
