Davi swallowed hard and leaned back in his chair after closing the laptop lid. He closed his eyes, rubbing his temples with one hand. He knew she was going through seven levels of hell right now, with her father passing away and the tension that seemed to being going on with her brothers. He pretended not to notice but there was only so much fakery that could go on without him realizing something was going on. He tried to be supportive, to give her time and space. Now he wasn't sure if that had been the best of strategies.

He pulled on a sweater over his long-sleeved shirt and grabbed his keys, stuffing his worn leather wallet into his back pocket before opening his room door and heading down the hallway. It was still early in the day so the light was still out as he passed through the front lobby. The girl's dorm wasn't too far but he kept up a brisk walk. He hoped she wasn't too angry.

He hoped she was alright.
