On the evening of the 23rd I noticed Sammy was limping a little. I asked my husban and he thought so too.
I took Sammy to the vet the next day. Nothing seemed to be torn which is good. He was given a rimadyl prescription and told to take it easy. No stairs, no jumping, and no running. He had a laser light therapy done on his knee/leg. I was able to hold him on the exam table while it was done. I had to put on special glasses because of the laser. Overall it was really cool. I was to call in about a week with an update.
The limp has come and gone. Mostly he's been holding his foot above the floor and only using it when he needed. I brought Sammy back in on Monday. As his hip was also sore, I left him there for them to sedate him and take x-rays. The x-rays didn't show any tears or breaks. They gave him another laser light therapy treatment on his hip and leg. Now he's on rimadyl and tramadol.
Of course he had to jump out of the car when I brought him home. And he's gone up and down the stairs. And he's gotten on the couch (which he's not supposed to do anyway) when he thought no one would be around to check on him.
Silly Corgi!
