Blah Blah Update Blah Blah
So! The last 2-3 months have been kinda shittastic. There were several almost breakdowns, and then one real breakdown that ironically took place after all the stressful stuff was nearly over. But I was so stressed by that point that it couldn't not happen, even with the end in sight.
The high point was Geek Girl Con which was freaking amazing but had the negative effect of reminding me how awesome it would be to be in a place where I had stuff in common with people all the time.
But fortunately I have a new job now! Of course it is the lowest paying job I have had for several years, and thus far I have not been working enough hours to live, but at least I like this job. It's at an awesome local bookstore. The people who work there actually make Star Trek references on their own. It's amazing. I now have daily contact with nerds. Plus there are huge floor to ceiling windows that look out on downtown. As opposed to my previous job where I was locked in a windowless warehouse all day with constantly shrieking dogs. Also my pay will be going up in January (first when minimum wage goes up and then I'll be making 4 cents more an hour than at my old job) and then it will go up again in February when I get promoted out of training. And they do intend to give me more hours at some point. So that should be OK.
I am on hiatus from school until January which is good an bad. It puts me behind on finishing the program, so now I'm looking at finishing November instead of September but I was so stressed out for the first half of the class that my work was really shit. I was super sleep deprived and was turning stuff in because I had hit the deadline. It still wasn't done, but I was out of time. So I was skirting through with barely a passing grade and I finally decided to just stop. So I'm taking a break and then retaking this class in January when I can come back with renewed vigor. I should post some of my animation online. Maybe tonight. Anyway that's the state of things.
