Tentacles and the Good Drugs
So I've spent the past week (almost) lying on my side because I had a really painful cyst on my tail bone. Even after it got lanced it was still painful and difficult to move. Today I went back to the clinic where they were concerned that it wasn't draining properly. They did very painful things to me and I wished I had a bullet to bite or a stress ball or something because that motherfucker hurt goddamnit.
Then they gave me hydrocodone and instructions to 'irritate' the drainage site so that it would drain better. Man that hydrocodone is great. It made me light headed and dizzy, but I also got a sense of euphoria, so I was in a pretty good mood. I'm thinking that it's getting better now. I need to redo the dressing before I go to bed, but it feels like the pressure has been relieved. I even sat in a real sitting position for a bit today and I can go up and down the stairs without agonizing pain.
In celebration I finished some tentacle porn. I was going to ink and paint it in photoshop (or the Gimp if I did it on Robbie) but I just didn't have the patience to mess with my tablet on the new 'puter, and the old one is still in teh shop. Plus I just got some beautiful Crayola colored pencils. The are fantastic except that the selection of purples leaves something to be desired. But a little blending with the blue got it right nicely.
Old friends and college associates may recognize this porn as it is a new take on an old classic. I would post it right now, but it is for tentacle_fest and so everyone shall have to wait until then. I do need to scan/photograph it soon though because it's in the front of a new sketch book and I'm afraid the pencils will smear. Of course I could take it out and give it a blast of fixative, but then what? Frame it? Put it on the wall?
I need to do some painting. The ridiculous Red Dwarf theme song has some fantastic imagery in it and I want to paint it. The line it "I want to lie shipwrecked and comatose, drinking fresh mango juice. Goldfish shoals nibbling on my toes..." Goldfish shoals. I love it. Also, I haven't heard anything for a while so maybe I need to re-email these people but there was supposed to be an art auction to benefit the local humane society. I wanted to whip something up for that as well. I think that's supposed to be in April.
So while I've felt really crappy the past few days, now I'm feeling pretty good.
