Home for the Holidays

Wow. I don't remember Spike TV being this offensive. Didn't they just used to have wrestling and Star Trek? Oh well. Now Futurama is on.

The drive yesterday was ok. It was not nearly as hellish as I was expecting. But jesus the snow! I drove past a coffee shop that had been crushed under the weight. Crushed onto a car. Also the house is surrounded by deadly deadly icecicles. With fire starting icecicle lights imbedded in them. Also the reindeer on the front lawn are buried up to their necks.

Today I made delicious sugar cookies (with help from Roland) and I kinda got sick from all the icing and colored sugar I ingested. Oiy.

Also I have seen about a zillion tedious album commercials since I've been home. Enya, Cold Play, Christmas songs upon Christmas songs.

Fry: You know the worst thing about being a slave? They make you work all the time but they don't pay you or let you go.

Hehe.

For dinner, after the sugar rush/nausea passed I had some pretty darn good microwave spring rolls and top ramen. Mmm. It's like being a poor college student, only I drove seven hours through the snow to be with my family to eat like this in front of the tv.

My stepdad is working, my mom has driven to Spokane to get Sandy from the airport there. He was supposed to come in to Seattle yesterday but the airport was closed. So he was stuck in Vegas yesterday (fortunately my mother's childhood friend lives there and she was able to pick him up). Today he flew from Vegas to Pheonix and from there he's flying to Spokane, coming in at 11 pm. Awesome. Another friend is driving my mom, but I declined to go on that fun filled trip.

Oh, and Gretta was not happy to see the poodle. She growled when she saw her and has been guarding her bed and her food. The poodle was ambivalent about seeing Gretta. Everyone else is glad to see her though. She's way sweeter than Gretta.

I kinda want another spring roll, but there are only two left. I think I'll wait a bit. Maybe I'll "go to bed" soon and borrow Mother's laptop (the one I'm on now) and watch more Daria.

poodle, holidaze
