So, there are vultures circling menacingly over my computer. The biggest one will rip off the broken screen with one good jerk of it's head and the others will swoop down and peck out the keys one by one.
I had for a time, contented myself with some sweet sweet denile. "I'll just need to replace the screen hinges, then everything will be fine." Clearly everything is not fine. Hal is suddenly very very slow. For a while now, windows will randomly minimize or close themselves for no apparent reason. The whole package gets awfully hot awfully fast. The cd drive only works about half the time and if I try to adjust the screen too much it will close down altogether. And most excitingly of all, whenever it starts up I get this charming message, "The system has recovered from a Serious Error!" Fun. So I need to buy some cds and back some shit up.
It's also never made this constant grinding clicky noise before. As though, when I only have firefox open (one tab no less, it froze when I tried to open two) it is being overloaded to an absurd degree and cannot cope. I'm not entirely sure what I can do about any of this either since I am, like all college students, short on funds. For now I guess I'll just keep swatting at teh birds with my broom and reading Jeeves and Wooster while my computer labors desperately to load hotmail.
