Cute Poodle and Happy Holidays
So, the bad news is that the hinge part of my laptop that makes the screen adjustable is broken. So, yeah, every electronic thing I own is dying. I also spent yesterday with some sort of godawful stomach bug that made me reticent to move or eat. But besides that, everything is lovely.
Yesterday I drove to the Tri-Cities and got Sarah and she spent the night, and she's spending the night again tonight. We've mostly been watching 'My Name is Earl' because her grandparents gave her the first season on DVD. If you haven't seen this show, you should stop reading right now and either Net Flix it or just buy it, because it is fucking awesome. We also spent a good chunk of the afternoon looking at poodles online because Sarah wants a puppy. We are in agreement that my poodle is the cutest and the sweetest. There was also superdickery.com. I love the internet, there's so much awesome weird shit on it.
I also wrote 2 snippets for the DS Holiday Party. That was fun. I said I'd write anything and I got a Ray/Ray and a Stella/Frannie. I liked the Ray story but I wrote it in an odd third person perspective that required extremely clunky grammatical structure. liz_chan beta'd for me and suggested that I put it in first person. That cleared up all the crazy sentence structure, but it really isn't written in Ray's voice, it's written in mine. Overall, I think it's better (simpler certainly) this way, but I think the voice was better before. Also, it's pretty angsty and sad, but I'm proud of it. If you wanna read it, it's here:

I also wrote a Smallville piece for the kill_lana_lang contest. Anyone who's watched more than a couple episodes of that show should enjoy that contest. Here's a link for those of you who want to read about Lana being eaten by fire ants!
