Attended Avacal May Crown yesterday. Although no longer able to fight rapier for more than a few minutes (curse you, tennis elbow!), I was surprised and relieved that after several years hiatus, I could still draw a relatively light(40#) bow and hit the target more often than not.
Note to self: a light cotton swordsman's shirt and cotton pants are insufficient at 5 deg C, especially with a 50km wind. I now see the benefits of a furry sporran...my silver fox kept the tender bits from freezing. It snowed, and a brief whirlwind destroyed two vendors stalls and damaged Taisia's tent a bit. Everyone got by with cloaks and blankets, however, and toughed it out. Hoping for better weather in June for the coronation of the new King...the first one for the brand new Kingdom of Avacal.
